My Story
Hi, my name is Aayush. After graduating from the University of Florida in 2022, I started my career as a software engineer at Zoom, where I built projects that reached millions of people. After three years, though, I realized I couldn't see myself doing this forever. I wanted to learn about the human body, connect deeply with people, lead change, innovate in healthcare, and directly transform lives. So I made the leap as a non-traditional pre-med and went through the entire process.
The MCAT was the first challenge. It had been five years since I took my last science class. I had forgotten basic gen chem. Starting at zero, I studied hard after work every single day for 2.5 months and scored a 517 on test day. (I was actually doing even better on practice tests, but test anxiety hit hard on the real thing.) Still, I was proud of the outcome.
Then came everything else: writing personal statements, reaching out to professors that didn't remember me, drafting secondaries, prepping for CASPer (not even sure if it matters), requesting transcripts, and a million other things I'm probably forgetting. It was overwhelming to keep it all straight. The stress was real. But I pushed through and ended up with seven interviews. And this fall, I'll be attending the University of Florida College of Medicine!
Throughout the process I kept thinking why doesn't anything exist to make this easier? As a former engineer, I wanted to optimize every step so you wouldn't have to endure the same chaos, miss a deadline, second-guess your ideas, or settle for anything less than your strongest application.
That's why MedCoach exists. No pre-med should have to choose between a $7,000 consultant and a blank ChatGPT window. My goal is to give you the real value of a high-end consultant with the constant availability and accessibility you actually need.
I've got your back. I'll keep adding more value, and if you have a feature request, suggestion, or any feedback at all, just let me know. The process absolutely sucks and you do not have to go through it alone.
